In his diplomatic career, Dr. Cede served as Consul General of Austria in Los Angeles (1988 – 1991), as Austrian Ambassador to Russia (1999 – 2003), and to Belgium and to NATO (2003 – 2007). In the Foreign Ministry he was Director of the International Law Office from 1993 to 1999.
